Thanks for wanting to collaborate and help contribute to the Australian Nursing/Midwifery & wider health professional community!

We have several ‘sections’ for those interested in contributing.

  • Feature your staff! We have articles from collaborations with staff from LifeFlight, SA Health, Royal Flying Doctors Service, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Health, Eastern Health, Townsville Health, Barwon Health, Doctors without Borders (MSF), Ambulance Victoria, NSW Air Ambulance & many others! Contact us
  • Patient Perspectives. Have you been a patient with a severe illness/condition/injury or know someone who has? Check out here as we would love to hear from you.
  • Funny Content. Have a hilarious, funny, stupid, wild and or ridiculous story to share? Go here for examples and more information! 
  • Covid Experience. We are also looking for anyone in the healthcare sector in any role to share their Covid19 experience. For more go HERE

The Aim

The Nurse Break editorial team values collaboration and invites blog submissions via the website. Our aim is to provide and publish useful, interesting, safe, educational content and resources to our primarily Australian nursing audience. We have created a process to go from submission to blog publication that helps to ensure consistency, quality, and readability of all content published. We strongly suggest you read some of our recent blogs to develop a sense of the style and content we publish.

The Pitch

The Nurse Break is happy to review complete submissions however we suggest contacting the editorial team with your blog idea.

This allows us to work with you from the beginning on the outline and direction of your blog, before you have committed time to writing it.

Content Style: 

All Content must be of a high standard and related to / targeted at nurses, midwives and other health professionals.

It can include:

  1. Q&A / Day in the life (we can write questions for you) (OR you can record a video like these ones – email us for details)
  2. Clinical Update / how to guide / best practice article / Guidelines
  3. A Personal story
  4. A Patient Perspective Story
  5. A contribution for the Covid19 Frontline Stories
  6. News / research updates
  7. A contribution for the “Stupid, Funny Nursing Stories from the Breakroom LIVE FEED
  8. Creative writing relevant to nursing or healthcare
  9. Thought-provoking article on issue of current relevance to nurses or midwives.

Privacy: The Nurse Break adheres to the highest standards of patient confidentiality and privacy. Do not use real patient information without permission. Case studies must be accompanied by written permission from the patient.

Plagiarism: The Nurse Break reserves the right to check submissions for plagiarism.

The Nurse Break (TNB) retains editorial independence. TNB has 100% discretion about accepting/declining content. TNB expects articles are published on TNB with 100% exclusivity and not republished or reworded for other websites/platforms.
